Dearest Christian Friends

It has been a long 3 years + time since you have heard from us. Claudette and I are stable in Haiti. Our plan is to remain here until the Lord Jesus will call us to our sweet home in heaven. The worse things get here, the more committed and  appreciative we are of God's goodness to us.We thank our Almighty God for being everything to us. PASSION FOR SOULS is moving on slowly but surely. The children at the orphanage and the staff are doing good by the grace of the Lord. The country of Haiti is and has been in big troubles. As you may know there is no elected Government in power. The bandits are openly making the rules. Killing, kidnapping, burning to death innocent people in their own homes is a common  practice. INSECURITY in our headline news daily. According to many fiable reports, about 1/3 of the population (4,000,000) are starved. The famine gets worse everyday. Over 6,000 people got killed by the bandits in the last 12 months.
Many of the churches are ransacked or burned down by the bandits. For examples First Baptist Church of Port-au-Prince has been ransacked and shut down for the last 2 years and  church members got killed in front of the church, and kidnapped ; Second Baptist Church of Port-au-Prince ransacked and burned down, etc. About 90% of the Port-au-Prince, the Capital of Haiti is under the gangs control. Whenever a person walks in the streets, that person walks into the valley of death. But "the Lord is good all the times"

More than 500,000 persons are forced to run away from their homes to save their lives without knowing where they are going. More then ever before, there are much more needy and orphaned children begging in the streets, pregnant women, elderly men and women, mothers with babies pleading for their survival. Shelters are everywhere. That is sadly SAD that thousands of our Christian brothers/ sisters are among the victims. Hundreds of our 10,000 + large and small churches are affected in one way or another by the insecurity. Many of the hospitals, medical clinics, pharmacies, schools, businesses are damaged or destroyed. Please know that according some researchers out of the Haiti's 12 millions population, 40 % + are protestants. If this number is correct, there are about 5,000,000 people who claim to be Christians in Haiti. These are our brothers and sisters in Christ. God forbid you and us here could be in their shoes. Here we live one day at a time. We are doing our top best with the Lord's grace and the rest is in His All-powerful Hands. We are ready for heaven in His time.

Dearest American Christian friends, we come pleading with you, yes with you personally, and your family members to ask " LORD JESUS, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE ME AND MY FAMILY DO IN THIS URGENT AND CRITICAL SITUATION IN HAITI"?

The critical situation is:

1. Thousands of our Christian families are experiencing STARVATION.

2.  Thousands of our Christian families are HOMELESSNESS. Their homes are burned, destroyed by the gangs. Some families are killed inside their own homes. The bandits do not allow them even to escape for their lives. Hopefully as things get better, they hope to rebuild their homes. How?.

3.  Thousands are very sick and in need of MEDICAL CARE AND MEDICATION. Now there are very few hospitals to go to. Many pharmacies, medical clinics, schools are burned down.

4.Thousands of children need to go back to school to get their EDUCATION. They are hopeless regarding their future.

Here are some of the things, you as loving and caring Christians

can do to alleviate some of the needy Haitian critical needs:

1. $ 250 can feed a family of 5 people for 30 days. Of course some families have 8 people. But let us consider the average of 5 people (father, mother, + 3 kids)

2. $ 15,000 can rebuild/ repair and furnish a two-bedroom house. Yes, a family of 5-8 people can live in a 2-bedroom house.

3. $ 400 depending on the case can pay for a doctor's visit, X-ray, and medications.

4.  $ 500 /year can pay for tuition, school uniforms, books for a pupil.

So please, bear with us.

AT PASSION FOR SOULS,

we do not believe that we can help everybody. But in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus, we can and we must do what we can to express our practical love to the weaker and needy brothers/sisters. In each of the selected churches in Haiti, WE AGREE TO SELECT CAUTIOUSLY WITH THE HELP OF THE PASTORS, THE MOST NEEDY FAMILIES. THE POOREST OF THE POORS ARE OUR TOP PRIORITY. MAY GOD HELP US !

PLEASE JOIN US IN PRAYING AND CONSIDERING THE FOLLOWING IDEAS:

1). We would like to feed 2-meals a day to 2,000 families for 30 days × $ 250 = $500,000

Please, keep in mind that feeding the hungry

is OUR # 1 PRIORITY. That is a lot of money. But know also that 2000 families × 5 members per family = at least 10,000 people, eating 2 meals a day for 30 days = 600,000 meals for the month.

2).  We would like to rebuild/ repair and furnish  25 two- bedroom houses × $15,000 =$375,000

3). We would like to help 50 patients get medical care × $400 = $ 20,000

4).  We would like to send 100 children back to school × $500 /year = $ 50,000

The grand total is:

$500,000+ 375,000 + 20,000 + 50,000 = $945,000

We are ready to start asap with whatever the amount of money available. The PASSION FOR SOULS' Board in Haiti is ready for our treasurers Kody & Laura Carr to send to us whatever money there is in the Bank's account in the States.  And as our donors will generously continue to give for FEEDING,

REBUILDING HOUSES,  MEDICAL, OR EDUCATION, they will send us.

We are praying and trusting our Almighty God to use His generous American servants to help us make a difference in Haiti in this time of great critical needs of all sorts.

Please, our dearest Christian friends, share this letter with your family members, friends, co-workers, neighbors, your congregations,, etc.

Ps

We are grateful to our good friends Kody & Laura Carr for doing a great job managing the PASSION FOR SOULS' donations. Thank you faithful friends and only the Lord can pay you for your faithfulness. Stay blessed by the Lord Jesus.

In the precious name of our Lord Jesus, we express our deep gratitude to each and all of you for your continued prayers for Passion for Souls, your generosity, your lasting friendship.

Please know that without donors/givers/supporters like you, this ministry would have been something of the past. We love you each and all.
